Roanoke native, Jennifer Bird, PhD, author of the new release Permission Granted: Take the Bible into Your Own Hands, will offer a number of readings and events on August 29-30, 2015 in Roanoke.

On Saturday, August 29, Dr. Bird will have a reading and signing at the Roanoke County Public Library, 6303 Merriman Rd, Roanoke, at 3:00 pm.  For more information, contact the library at 540-772-7507.

On Sunday, August 30, Dr. Bird will be present for two events at Metropolitan Community Church of the Blue Ridge, 806 Jamison Ave SE, Roanoke.  She will present a dialogue sermon with Reverend Joe Cobb at 11:00 am as part of the worship service.  She will also offer an evening presentation, 6-7:30 pm on: “Biblical Marriage: I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means.” A light dinner will be served, so reservations are recommended by contacting the church office at 540-344-4444 or mccblueridge@gmail.com.
