Settled Pastor:  Currently vacant

Administrative Assistant:  Laura Latham

In her own words, Laura shares:

The great Fred Rogers said “Life is for service.” More and more I’ve come to understand how true that is. In addition to serving as, the Administrative Assistant at Metropolitan Community Church of the Blue Ridge, I also serve as the Office Administrator at St. Philip Lutheran Church.  I also serve in several volunteer roles at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke where I am a member. I live in Southwest Roanoke with my teenage son Thomas and our YorkiePoo Junebug. I have a B.A. in English and minors in history and business from Bridgewater College. I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, and camping and am passionate about the environment, equal rights for all people, and feeding hungry people in our area.

Laura is a wonderful blessing to MCCBR.  She is more than an Administrative Assistant; she is a friend, ally, supporter, and gift from God who tirelessly serves our church both in the spotlight and behind the scenes.  If you have any questions about MCCBR, Laura is always willing to listen!

Music Minister:  Seth Davis

Seth Davis is a Georgia native who is now thrilled to call Roanoke his home! Seth received his Bachelor of Music degree from Clayton State University in 2007. While in Atlanta, Seth served as founding and principal accompanist for Griffin Choral Arts, pianist and Wesley Choir co-director at Griffin First United Methodist Church, and cantor, pianist, and Angel Choir director at The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel. He also taught, judged, and accompanied many choral, music, and theater festivals, competitions, and workshops. He also taught musical theatre, voice, and piano for several private schools in the Atlanta area. In addition, Seth has served as music director for many fine regional theatres as well as the theatre departments of Georgia Tech and Oglethorpe University. He now lives in downtown Roanoke with his fiance’, Travis, and their crazy dog, Mina, and he is the Resident Music Director at Mill Mountain Theatre and the Ballroom Manager for The Patrick Henry Ballroom.

We’re delighted to have already welcomed several new members to our music ministry this year and always welcome anyone who would like to share their musical gifts. Choir and band rehearse each Sunday before the service at 9:45am as well as occasional evening or weekend rehearsals when preparing for Easter or Christmas. Please let Seth know if you would be interested in singing with the choir, playing with the band, or offering a solo/duet for our congregation!
